Here is the same verse from The Message (paraphrase Bible:
A cheerful disposition is good for your health;
gloom and doom leave you bone-tired.

Many of you probably know of Ken Davis. He is a Christian comedian and storyteller. Ken knows what human fallibility is all about. He knows how tough we can be on ourselves and how hard we try to appear to be more together than we really are. And to all of us, Ken offers two words of very solid wisdom: LIGHTEN UP!
I concur… LIGHTEN UP!
Stop being hard on your self! Stop the negative self-talk and the jar is 1/2 empty mentality. The Bible is filled with scriptures on the joy of the Lord as well laughter.
Our time on this earth is precious. If the enemy can steal your joy and wreck your physical and mental health, he wins.
Why is that?
Because you were made for so much more! You were made to have a relationship with Christ. You were made for such a time as this – to make a difference in your family, community, nation and even the world.
God is good and our time on this side of heaven is short. Determine in your heart to find the solution to anything that is holding you back from God’s best.
